Testing Together Classroom Training

Testing Together (TT) training is a two day training intended for persons who will offer HIV testing services to couples, or who manage and support HIV testing programs. The TT training reviews essential couple communication skills, provides detail on the eight steps for providing a TT session, and equips HIV testing providers with the skills, confidence, and tools to deliver this approach for HIV testing with couples. Job aids are provided to trainees, along with an implementation manual and sample documents to support implementation.

Because TT builds on the skills of individual HIV testing providers, it is recommended that TT trainees have been previously trained in individual HIV testing according to their local or state jurisdiction’s training requirements. It is also recommended that trainees have provided HIV testing for at least six months or to at least 50 individuals.

Testing Together online trainings can be located in the eLearning Center.

How to request a training

If you are a health department, clinic or community-based organization funded by CDC to implement an evidence-based intervention or public health strategy, please submit a training request through the CDC Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) Tracking System (CTS). If CDC does not fund your agency to implement an evidence-based intervention or public health strategy, please contact your state health department so that they can submit a request for training on your behalf.
